CROSS-NAVIGATION

The navigation system that allows you to navigate both up and down through the structure and laterally within groups of documents.

We define cross-navigation in the following way:

  • Arrow up:
    To the document above
  • Arrow down:
To the first document in the next level below
  • Arrow left:
Navigation to the first document on the same level
  • Arrow right:
Navigation to the last document on the same level

The standard for navigating from a keypad
This method of navigation involves using the arrow keys on the numerical keypad. Navigation is also presented visually and functionally on screen. This is useful for some disabled users. This function has also proved to be ideal for navigating on lap top machines without using a mouse.

The navigation functions are an example of our approach to accessibility. This is one of many reasons why Linator is ideal for forward-looking publishing.
